Well, the challenge is complete — and together we raised a few bob for rehab.
What started as a small personal goal became something far more meaningful for me after my knee replacement last September.
Recovery gave me a brief but humbling glimpse into what life can feel like when pain, dependence, and limited movement become part of everyday life.
It changed my perspective completely.
Today, more than anything, I feel grateful. Grateful to be back walking, swimming, moving freely, and enjoying the simple things we so often take for granted. When your mobility is taken away, even temporarily, you realise just how precious it really is.
This experience has also given me enormous respect for those living every day with physical challenges, pain, or long recoveries. The resilience people show is extraordinary.
So to anyone struggling, recovering, adapting, or simply trying to keep going — I salute you. Your strength is greater than you probably know.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, supported, encouraged, or checked in along the way. It meant more than you realise. and it was great fun. think I might just keep going. the best advice I ever received from an elderly lady was "keep moving". No matter how little or slow that is, you just keep moving How right she is!!
Finally I asked AI to give me a list of words that are relevant for anyone going through anything at all. Here they are. and you can add your own.
Patience Rest Balance Sleep Hope Progress Courage Persistence Calm Care Nutrition
Movement Strength Support Balance Humour Laughter and lots of coffee dates
Love Bernie
